Hello, GSN!

I’m really excited to apply for your position of Lead UI Designer. 

Dramatic storytelling and a WOW experiences are a passion of mine, so I’d like to apply my UX/UI experience to the game industry. My UX experience trained me in systems thinking and usability, which I believe is key to creating a cohesive game environment. And because enterprise software demands a huge amount of assets, I’ve learned how to manage large-scale design libraries and UI systems.  I have proficiency in Sketch and Sketch libraries, Photoshop, Illustrator, ProCreate, Principle, and other digital design software. 

Alongside my design experience, I’m also an illustrator, and it would be a joy to be able to apply my talent for digital drawing and painting on a regular basis.

Ultimately, what really gives me energy is working with other passionate people. I love to create, and it doesn’t matter if it’s visual, story-telling, or interactive, as long as I get to work with other talented people to do it. I never want to stop learning new things, and the best way to do that is to go places I’ve never been before.

  • Managed a team of product designers to output the highest quality user experience with efficiency to match our product roadmap.
  • Personally contributed to the research, UX, and interaction design of primary product features, including:
    • Responsible for designing the UX and UI for sign-up flows, dashboards, and other core features of the application

Outside of my software experience I’ve spent time creating physical environments and experiences in real-world gaming. Using wood, foam, and metal to build and scenic effects to finish, I worked on a wide variety of fabrication projects. I was also tasked with concepting a number of single-theme challenge rooms.

 

Cantina | Senior Visual Design Consultant | November 2013 - April 2017

Created digital and brand experiences for a wide variety of international clients, including interactive prototypes, interaction design, visual design systems, and user interfaces for both native and web applications. Types of customers ranged from Entertainment to Education.

 

Cambridge Healthtech Institute | Associate Art Director | June 2009 - October 2013

Created and maintained designs for international bio-tech research and pharmaceutical conferences. For each of these events I was responsible for:

  • Logo design and campaign strategy
  • Website, web banners, and email design
  • High-volume print material including an exhibitor prospectus, ads, printed agendas, on-site signage and trade show graphics
  • Worked with print vendors to assure the quality of our printed brochures, mailers, envelopes, and other print collateral

 

Contract Illustrator | Engineering is Elementary, Boston Museum of Science | 2010 - 2011

  • Created 100+ custom illustrations for the K-12 ‘Engineering is Elementary’ curricula

  • Worked with a team of designers in a fast paced, quick turn-around environment
  • Responsible for design and pre-press preparation for advertisements and page layout
